Wymondham assault appeal

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Wymondham last Friday (18 September 2020).

The victim was outside shops on Lime Tree Avenue at approximately 6:30pm, when he and the suspects became engaged in a verbal altercation.

Following the exchange, the victim was assaulted at the junction of Lime Tree Avenue and Ashleigh Gardens, receiving a punch to the face, and blows to the head and body with a metal weapon.

The victim suffered cuts and bruising as a result of the attack.

The two suspects are described as male teenagers, who were riding black scooters.

One suspect is believed to have been wearing a long, black quilted coat, and a patterned face covering. The other was reported to have been wearing a dark blue, hooded top and blue jeans.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident, or to anyone who may have dash cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time.
