Key facts

  • The Gaywood, Fairstead and Reffley (GFR) neighbourhood lies on the eastern suburbs of King’s Lynn in West Norfolk. It is a densely populated area with an increasingly diverse community including a sizeable Portuguese and Eastern European population.
  • The three distinct residential areas each have their own community centres with local shops and other amenities. Gaywood in particular has a busy retail area including some major supermarkets.
  • The neighbourhood houses the College of West Anglia, King’s Lynn’s three high schools and a number of primary schools. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the acute hospital serving West Norfolk, South Lincolnshire and North East Cambridgeshire, is also located within the area.
